Overview
Simple Staff Shift ("the App") is a time-tracking application for iPad. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.
The most important thing to know: Simple Staff Shift operates entirely offline. Your data never leaves your device.
Information the App Stores
The App stores the following information locally on your iPad:
- Employee Information: Names and PIN codes used to identify employees when clocking in/out
- Time Records: Clock-in and clock-out timestamps for each work session
- Shift History: Historical records of all completed shifts
All data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. PIN codes are used only for local identification within the App and are never transmitted anywhere.
Information We Do NOT Collect
The App does NOT:
- Transmit any data to servers or the cloud
- Require an internet connection to function
- Collect analytics or usage statistics
- Use third-party tracking or advertising services
- Access your location, contacts, photos, or other device data
- Create user accounts or require registration
Because all data stays on your device, we (the developers) have no access to your information and cannot view, collect, or share it with anyone.
Data Export Features
The App allows you to export time records as CSV or Excel files for payroll or record-keeping purposes. When you use these export features:
- Files are generated locally on your device
- You choose how to share or save exported files (AirDrop, Files app, email, etc.)
- We have no access to exported files
Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- Device Security: Your iPad's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
- App PIN Protection: Employee and admin PIN codes control access within the App
- Local-Only Storage: Data never travels over networks, eliminating transmission-related risks
We recommend keeping your iPad's operating system up to date and using a strong device passcode.
Data Retention and Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- View: Access all stored time records within the App
- Edit: Modify employee information and time entries at any time
- Delete: Remove individual shifts, employees, or all data
- Export: Create local copies of your records before deletion
To delete all App data, you can delete records within the App or uninstall the App entirely (this removes all associated data). Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Your Rights
Because Simple Staff Shift stores all data locally on your device and we have no access to it, you already have full control over your data. You can access, modify, export, or delete any information at any time without needing to contact us.
Children's Privacy
Simple Staff Shift is designed for business use and is not directed at children under 13. The App does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since the App does not connect to the internet, please review this policy periodically or when updating the App.
